****************************************************************** "Solar Physics with the Nobeyama Radioheliograph" http://solar.nro.nao.ac.jp/meeting/nbym04/ Date: 2004 October 26 (Tue.) ~ 29 (Fri.) Venue: Seisenryo at Kiyosato (same as the previous symposium) SOC: T. Bastian, N. Gopalswamy, T. Kosugi, K. Shibasaki(*), T. Yokoyama LOC: A. Asai, H. Kodama, K.Shibasaki(*), M. Shimojo nbym04@(NRO) (*) chair (NRO) nro.nao.ac.jp Objective of the meeting: Nobeyama Radioheliograph (NoRH) has been observing the Sun for more than 12 years. We completed one solar cycle of observations. To mark this occasion, we want to summarize what has been done with the heliograph and to discuss what we should do in the future. Papers to be presentied in the meeting will be mainly concerned with the results from the NoRH, closely related field and future plans. Expected participants: From abroad: 20 Domestic: 20 Time allocation(Total 17h30m): Mon(Oct.25) evening: reception Tue(Oct.26) 9:00-12:00(2h30m+30m break), 14:00-17:00 (2h30m+30m break) Wed(Oct.27) 9:00-12:00(2h30m+30m break), 14:00-17:00 (2h30m+30m break) Thu(Oct.28) 9:00-12:00(2h30m+30m break), 14:00-17:00 observatory visit evening: Sushi party Fri(Oct.29) 9:00-12:00(2h30m+30m break), 14:00-17:00 (2h30m+30m break) Expected presentations (Total time: 17 hours) Reviews: 3/4 hour x 8 (6 hours) Contributions: 1/2 hour x 20 (10 hours) Poster short presentations: 5 min. x 12 (1 hour) Possible invited review talks: Flares, Particle acceleration: Bastian, Melnikov Flare associated oscillation: Asai Eruptions: Gopalswamy, Shimojo Quiet Sun & Active regions: Shibasaki, Gelfreikh FASR(Gary), SSRT(Grechnev), Solar-B(Kosugi), IHY(Gopalswamy) Possible contributions: Kundu, White, Altyntsev, Stepanov, Nindos, Ryabov, Fleishman, Huang Pohjolainen, Yokoyama, Hori, Nakajima, Masuda, Krucker(RHESSI) Proceedings: All the presented electronic material will be published on CD-ROM. We propose to publish a special issue of PASJ (Publication of Astronomical Society of Japan) consisting of papers selected by the SOC at the end of the meeting. As PASJ publishes original papers, it is necessary to ask authors to write original papers based on the material presented at the meeting. A spacial issue of PASJ requires more than 10 papers. Normal refereeing process is required. Review papers and the complete list of publications concerned with the results from the NoRH will be published as a Proceedings book. ******************************************************************
